About
Dozvas is a contemporary visual artist whose work explores the relationship between sound, form, and identity. Drawing inspiration from music, rhythm, and the human experience, his practice translates auditory sensations into visual language, where movement, color, and composition become extensions of sound.
He studied Fine and Applied Arts at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Anambra Nigeria (2013–2017), where he developed a foundation in visual structure, material exploration, and conceptual thinking. This formal training continues to inform his evolving studio practice.
Working primarily in oil on canvas, Dozvas approaches each piece as an intuitive yet deliberate process. His work navigates the tension between control and improvisation, allowing forms to emerge through rhythm, gesture, and layered expression. Figures often exist in transitional spaces between motion and stillness, memory and presence, suggesting that identity is not fixed, but continuously shaped and reinterpreted.
Through ongoing series such as Resonant Body and Defiant Graces, his work examines how the body becomes a vessel for sound, memory, and resilience. Each piece functions as both a visual composition and an emotional echo, capturing moments that feel intimate, expressive, and enduring. Based in a studio-led practice, Dozvas continues to develop a body of work that bridges sensory experience and visual form, creating pieces that resonate beyond the surface and into lived experience.
